Carl
Behrend is an author, singer-songwriter, and Great
Lakes historian available for lectures, photo slide
shows and musical performances about the Great Lakes.
Behrend, who was born in Escanaba, Michigan, has released
five CDs, his latest is "Even More Legends of
the Great Lakes".
Prior to that, he released More
Legends of the Great Lakes, following a theme established
on his first two releases, Ballad of Seul Choix (1997)
and Legends of the Great Lakes (1998), that of
creating euphonious folk music versions of local maritime
tales. Behrend is also the author of Adventure Bound:
Father and Daughter Circumnavigate the Greatest Lake in
the World, the true story of Behrend’s journey
around Lake Superior, first published in 2003.He lives
in Alger County in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
